Ecological Detection Dog Presentation with Lauralea Oliver

Detection dog trainer and handler Lauralea Oliver will give an overview of her work as the lead trainer for HT Harvey & Associates Ecological Consultants, which works in support of species conservation efforts, ecological research, and regulatory compliance. Lauralea has trained dogs for a number of novel situations including the detection of giant garter snakes, Morro Bay kangaroo rats, western pond turtle nests, California tiger salamander, and the Phytophthora fungus which is responsible for Sudden Oak Death. In addition to the ecological detection dog work she does, Lauralea is an instructor and trial judge for National Association of Canine Scent Work, which popularized scent work for pet dogs. Lauralea is the owner of K9 InSCENTive LLC based in California.
